Wastelands: XXXII European Architecture Students Assembly (16.-29.7.2012) was the largest and the most international architecture event of the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 -year. The festival was located in a former power plant area called Suvilahti – currently transforming into a fully blooming, vivid culture centre in the eastern downtown of Helsinki, the capital city of Finland. Exploring nature through Geocaching

“Geocaching is a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices and then share their experiences online.” -www.geocaching.com.

Me and my friend Akseli spent an evening looking for geocaches in Helsinki. We found six caches and visited places we had never been before. One of the most interesting part of geocaches are the locations they are hidden in, which are usually places worth seeing for. Because the joy of searching and finding is one of the main aspects in geocaching, I tried to avoid showing any specific cache locations on my photos. Instead I tried to catch the feeling and the views that this great hobby offers.
