Night of the Arts

Posted in Events, Reportage, Street, by Matti Keski-Kohtamäki on August 27th, 2011 by Matti – Be the first to comment

Last night was the night of the arts in Helsinki. Every summer ends with a lot of people coming to the central to celebrate and see all kinds of art presented all around the city. I didn’t concentrate on the actual arts that much, but as usual, my pictures are more about the people.

There were people watching some fire trucks, an ambulance and police cars on Fleminginkatu taking care of a minor apartment fire today at around six ‘o clock. Someone had forgotten their food on the stove, but I counted there was three fire trucks, an ambulance and couple of cop cars taking care of the situation.

I was out in Helsinki with my camera and once it started to rain I was headed back home, but the tram I was waiting never came and I heard it was because of an explosion nearby. I asked for the directions and ran to the scene hoping my camera wouldn’t take too much damage from the rain.
